Data Coordinator

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and passionate Data Coordinator to become a member of a great team with a flexible work environment.
The Mercury Disability Board is a non for profit, legislated community-based organization. The purpose of the MDB is to implement the terms of the settlement arising out of the contamination by mercury and other pollutants of the English and Wabigoon River systems per the Memorandum of Agreement signed in November 1985, and the Mercury Contamination Settlement Act assented to in July 1986. The Board’s mandate is to administer and oversee the assessment and compensation process.

Role

The Data Coordinator will be responsible for managing the usage of the current data systems with security and confidentiality. The Data Coordinator has a wide range of responsibilities for the data entry, communication and organization of reports and statistics. This is a contract position, with the flexibility of remote work.

Reporting

The Data Coordinator reports to the Process Manager at the Mercury Disability Board

Key Deliverables

  • Working with software on custom solutions.
  • Utilizing database programs and run data queries.
  • Collaborating with other team members.
  • Train, manage, lead colleagues on systems used at MDB.
  • Maintain integrity of data that contains Personal Heath Information.
  • Creating statistical reports, proposals and/or visual aids by compiling data from multiple sources for presentation to MDB Management as required.
  • Reviewing data for accuracy and identifying any gaps in information before sharing results with others.
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with vendors and other external contacts who can provide data when required.
  • Lead representative with the web app programming team on creation of a database to adequately manage clinic data processing.
  • Liaison with FSET, IT management firm to the MDB.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years’ experience working with databases, data procedures and data administration.
  • Outstanding analytical thinking skills.
  • Ability to scan large volumes of data in a short timeframe.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Up to date with modern databases and technologies such as SharePoint and M365.
  • Critical thinker, team player and good time management skills.
  • Great interpersonal and communications skills.

Terms

The Contractor will receive remuneration as an independent contractor at a negotiated fee, to a maximum of 35 hours per week as agreed upon by the successful candidate and Chair to the MDB. The contract term will be for a 2-year period. Contract terms are negotiable and the work location is hybrid; i.e. Kenora and/or home based office.
